Basically, I am from Mumbai, so we planed our trip from Mumbai itself. Lonavala-Mahabaleshwar, adorable weekend destination in Maharashtra, India. As I mentioned above we have planned this trip in July, so as every one know “Mumbai ki Barish” is a very beautiful and every monsoon lover have attraction of it. And I love Mumbai. So for this information we will going to live this moments again, imagine you are also travelling with me. And enjoy the Loavala- Mahabaleshawar journey. Ok , let’s come to the point.
Let’s start our Journey towards Lonavala!
We started our trip from Mumbai, we all waked at 6 am and started our journey from Mumbai on 8 am after breakfast. we booked a ola cab-outstation, so car came to pick us on time. we stared our journey towards Lonavala first.
Let me tell you some information about a place where we are going, it is ‘Lonavala’. Lonavala is 1 hr 56 min (83.1 km) from Mumbai, have a really adorable natural beauty, Lonavala comes with the dazzling lakes, beautiful waterfalls, greenery, Nature beauty, views of the mountains and tall trees that get foggy during the cold climate.
And it’s started raining outside when we were travelling towards Lonavala, it was very amazing experience. Foggy roads, rain and this all with your friends are “Sone Pe Sunhaga” | “cherry on the pie”. So basically this trip was for 2 nights and 3 days.
Now all are feeling little hungry so we decided to have some famous and hot Maharashtrian snacks. We decided to stop our car to have tummy filling snacks at one road side hotel, we ate Kande-pohe, sabudana khichdi, vadapav and had a garama garam (hot) masala chai.
After this short but memorable and tummy filling snacks we brought some lonavala chikki and fudge. After the shopping we have started our journey again. Because of rain it was not possible to us to visit some spots, because it was totally invisible. Still we decided to visit Lion’s Point.

Lion’s point is a vantage point located midway between Bhushi Dam. We reached Lion’s Point, and it was heaven guys! It was raining over there and we all had garam garam Tea, Bhutta and kanda bhaji at lions point. Then we explored the beauty of lions point, due to the rain view was not clear.
Then we had decided to go to Bhushi dam, where water overflows onto a set of steps during this season. Bhushi dam is near by to Lion’s point. The Bhushi dam is a masonry dam on the Indrayani River in Lonavala. We enjoyed a lot at bhushi dam, I don’t have words to explain my experience and joy but still I am trying my best.
So due to heavy rain we only cover this two points, we missed veena lake. We went to veena lake, but boating and view point are closed due to heavy rain. So we went to our hotel room. We had lunch at Ram krishna hotel lonavala. The food was very good compare to other hotels. After a lunch we went back to hotel room and it is still raining 😍.
Let’s start our Journey to Mahabaleshwar!
On next day, we checked out from the hotel on 8 am and started our journey toward ‘Mahabaleshwar‘. So after we checked out from the hotel we went for the breakfast first, we had Missal pav at famous hotel, and resume our journey again. After a breakfast, we went to see lingmala water fall, enjoyed a lot. Here you will get to see awesome views. The beauty of lingmala waterfall was incredible. The path way to go to lingmala was a awesome, you will fall in love with that atmosphere.
After lingmala waterfall we went to some more side scenes, enjoyed the rain, road way water falls and obviously bhutta and chai. I love to eat bhutta and drink chai in this type of atmosphere, actually I love monsoon. Then we went to Mapro garden and balaji temple.
This 2 view points are also very good. Mapro garden is on the way to Mahalabalehwar. In Mapro garden strawberries are famous. There are many preparations made by strawberries are available in Mapro garden. They also gave you intro abut Mapro Garden and free strawberry chocolates.
So the second day was over and we went to a hotel. I must say hotel was really good and atmosphere also too good. We decided to have diner at dhaba and then journey for food was started. In Mahabaleshwar after 7 pm roads are foggy so it is so difficult to drive, still we went to dhaba and ordered chicken and roti. I never experienced all this thing before.
Rainy and foggy way, that rain was so amazing, I still remember hot chicken and roti. Dhaba was also good. Only we 5 people are there at that time. Imagine it was raining out side there are some books for sale, so you can read and buy books from there. and yes hot chicken and roti. I will not forget that moments in my whole life. After a dinner I brought some books and then we went back to the hotel.
So next day we checked out from hotel and stared our journey towards ‘Pratapgad fort’, it is a large fort located in Satara district, near Mahabaleshwar. Prathapgad is a significant as the site of the Battle of Pratapgad, the fort is now the historical place of Maharastra and tourist place.
Shree Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj the Maratha, Indian warrior. Shree Shivaji Maharaj was an Indian warrior king and a member of the Bhonsle Maratha clan. I want to go again and again to Lonavala- Mahabaleshwar trip.
